Consisting of those fairies and elves loyal to Queen Titania, the royal caravan travelled from Fairyland with their monarch to Athens to celebrate Theseus and Hippolyta's marriage.
Among their number was the young Indian Prince, Titania's ward and the subject of Oberon's jealousy. Alongside the boy, the train also contained Titania's most trusted attendants, Peaseblossom, Cobweb, Mustardseed and Moth.
Their revelries were interrupted by Oberon's magical antics, who used the influence of Love-in-Idleness to take custody of the child and add him to his cortege.
With Oberon and Titania making peace, the two warring monarchs dissolved their factions, uniting their subjects under one banner.
