Fracture - DC Universe Online: Fractured Future: In Lex We Trust

A meta-human empowered by Brainiac’s Exobytes, Fracture, was among the few survivors committed to thwarting the Coluan’s Invasion of Earth, with the majority of the planet's populace either killed or digitised to join Brainiac's collection.

Joining forces with Lex Luthor - the very man who bestowed upon him his powers and regarded him as a respected hero - and Batman, the Dark Knight entrusted him with a mission of the utmost importance: to travel back in time with a canister of stolen Exobytes, alter the past, and change the future for the better, erasing their doomed future from ever transpiring.

However, before he could execute the assignment, he was betrayed and slain by his benefactor, who saw him as nothing more than a lab rat that had outlived its usefulness. He was electrocuted and left to die in the Fortress of Solitude, with Luthor activating the Fortress' self-destruct sequence to ensure no one else could travel back in time and stop him from exploiting the past for his own selfish gain.

Prematurely exposed to stolen Exobytes from a doomed future, Fracture emerged as a hero, joining Batman, the Justice League and the New Heroes to combat the threat that Brainiac, The Secret Society of Super-villains and The New Villains posed to their timeline. 

The Exobytes gifted him the ability to control time, albeit briefly.

Recruited by Lex Luthor, the man responsible for killing Superman and several other heroes during the Battle of Metropolis, Fracture was an Exobyte-empowered human with temporal powers that enabled him to manipulate and decelerate time temporarily.

Teaming up with fellow metahumans, he formed a small resistance to oppose Brainiac's invasion, using his powers to help save a gravely injured Batman after the latter was recovered from the battlefield, and later still safely teleporting Wayne to the Fortress of Solitude. 

Despite convincing Batman that his benefactor, Luthor, wished to help save the world, Fracture remained oblivious to Luthor’s impending betrayal As he prepared to travel back in time with a canister of stolen Exobytes, the leader of the Secret Society of Super-Villains betrayed and electrocuted him.

Story

Penny Young was always a brilliant student who was prepared to do anything to advance professionally. She has built up a reputation for being a cold, calculating woman, focused only on the project at hand. She was hired at Arkham Asylum by Warden Quincy Sharp to head up the Asylum's Research Department, and to finally restore to sanity the more deranged of Gotham City's super-villains.
