Gotham FM - Batman: Arkham City

Gotham FM

Vicki Vale: Good evening, Gotham. This is Vicki Vale. Earlier tonight we brought you the dramatic video of Bruce Wayne being arrested and dragged into Arkham City. So far, the Mayor's office has refused to justify this heavy-handed approach to what was a peaceful protest. What will happen to Mr. Wayne behind these walls? Known as an international playboy, he will now have to contend with convicted thieves, murderers, and cannibals. Will he have the skills to survive? This is Vicki Vale, reporting for Gotham Live. More later in the program.

-------------------

Vicki Vale: We now have confirmation that Bruce Wayne was indeed arrested and thrown into Arkham City. Why? Well, that is the question that everyone is asking right now. You can be sure that Wayne's lawyers are currently at the front of that line. We'll have more news as it breaks, as well as an eyewitness report from Jack Ryder as soon as we can. What's that? Oh, no. It appears that Jack Ryder has also been arrested and taken into Arkham City. Rest assured, we are working hard to bring you all the news from this breaking story as fast as we can. More as is it happens.

---------------------------------------------------

Vicki Vale: That's correct Gotham, you're looking at dramatic images happening live in Arkham City. The entire Bell Tower appears to have exploded. How and why this happened is unknown at this point. What we do know is that Batman appears to also be within the main walls of Arkham City. Why is he there? At this point, we can only speculate. Is Batman unhappy about Professor Strange and his plans for Arkham City? Is he doing something about it? Only time will tell.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Vicki Vale: That's correct, Don. The inmates are running wild and there are reports that the turf war on the ground has escalated. As regular viewers will no doubt remember, when I spoke to the mayor earlier tonight, he said that all measures were being taken to restrict the flow of illegal weaponry into Arkham City. The mayor was very clear in his response. He said that all weapons are illegal within the quarantine zone. He promised every measure possible was being taken to control these anarchic outbursts. So, Gotham, let me ask you. Does this look like an anarchic outburst? In my opinion, and I stress it is just my opinion, the entire site is in chaos.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Vicki Vale: My God! Our mystery caller was correct! It looks like Batman himself is exiting the building!

Joker: Is he really? Hello Gotham, it's me, I'm afraid Miss Vale will soon be leaving the airwaves. We apologise for this interruption.

Vicki Vale: We've been hit! We're going down! Mayday! Mayday! If anyone can hear me, we're --- Hello? Gotham! I don't know if you can hear me. My news copter has been shot down. We've crashed down somewhere in Arkham City. We need help! I'm now stuck on part of the old Gotham Freeway in what looks like a turf war between ... What the hell was that?! Oh God! There are snipers! They're all around my position. I can see what looks like inmates moving in on us. Please, if anyone can hear me, send help! This is Vicki Vale. I repeat this is Vicki Vale. If you can hear this, help me! It appears that the snipers covering my position from the South-East have gone. The roof of the Kirshen building has gone quiet. Either they've all left or someone has taken them out. Gunfire has ceased from Dini Towers. I can no longer see the snipers on the roof of the apartment building. If anyone can hear this broadcast, send help, please. If you can hear me, this is Vicki Vale. I am running out of time. I can't move from my position, my pilot is dead. I need help. I will continue to report for you, Gotham for as long as I am able. This is Vicki Vale, reporting on events live within Arkham City. From the ground, here within Arkham City, I can confirm that the site is in chaos. Well Gotham it appears I'm safe, for now. I've just been rescued by Batman. He saved me from what felt like certain death at the hands of snipers, all working for the Joker. How did the Joker's crew get their hands on sniper rifles in a maximum security prison? That Gotham is a question I intend to put to Professor Strange if I ever get out of here. I have to say that I have been shocked at the conditions on the ground in this so-called prison facility. So far tonight I have witnessed armed gang members running wild murder and mutilation on the streets and a complete lack of authority. We were told that Arkham City is good for Gotham, if that's true, maybe that good comes at a price we shouldn't have to pay. This is Vicki Vale, talking to you live and hoping she'll stay that way, in Arkham City.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Vicki Vale: So, we meet again, Mr Mayor.

Quincy Sharp: Miss Vale, I really don't have anything to say.

Vicki Vale: Really? How about the fact that it was you who hired Hugo Strange?

Quincy Sharp: It wasn't my fault.

Vicki Vale: Oh? Then whose was it? Gotham wants to know. Gotham needs to know.

Quincy Sharp: I have no comment. Now, please leave me alone.
