Jervis Tetch - Batman: The Long Halloween: Part One

The alter-ego of The Mad Hatter, Jervis Tetch is a costumed criminal in Gotham City, driven by an intense and delusional obsession with Lewis Carroll's works, notably 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.'  His criminal endeavours were shaped by the peculiar yet dark world of Carroll's literature, leading him to adopt a criminal persona often associated with mind-controlling devices reminiscent of elements from the Wonderland tales. 

His fascination with this fictional universe extended beyond simple admiration, as he aimed to replicate its eccentricity in Gotham, trapping victims in a distorted rendition of his favourite narratives.

Following his arrest, Tetch's spiralling madness resulted in his commitment to Arkham Asylum, as ordered by Gotham City's District Attorney, Harvey Dent. Here, he became part of Batman's infamous Rogues Gallery, leaving a legacy of unsettling criminal exploits inspired by Carroll's imaginative creations.
